Deported Bangladeshi Woman Rearrested in India with Fake IDs
A woman from Bangladesh was sent back to her home country by the police just three months ago.
However, she managed to sneak back into India by crossing the border illegally in West Bengal.
The police found her living in a city called Pune and arrested her.
They discovered she had two identity cards, called Aadhaar cards, but with two different names and her picture on both.
The police think she got these fake IDs with the help of some people.
The police are also investigating if her husband knew she was from Bangladesh before they got married.
Since she was already deported once, the police might send her back to Bangladesh again.
A 35-year-old Bangladeshi woman, Fatima Amjad Akhtar, was arrested in Bhosari for illegally residing in India.
She had been deported by the Mumbai Police in August 2025 and managed to re-enter India last month.
Fatima was found in possession of two Aadhaar cards, issued under different names (Mala Vitthal Davkhar and Fatima Fahimuddin), which are suspected to have been procured with the help of agents.
She initially entered India on a tourist visa in 2019, overstayed, and re-entered illegally after deportation.
Police are investigating her re-entry methods and her husband's potential knowledge of her nationality.
