Hindupur Campaigns to Become Satya Sai District Headquarters
In Andhra Pradesh, people from Hindupur want their town to be the main headquarters of the Satya Sai district instead of Puttaparthi.
They say Hindupur has all the necessary buildings and land for this.
Right now, Puttaparthi is the headquarters, but some people there are unhappy because political protests are disturbing the peaceful spiritual atmosphere.
A group called Hindupur Jilla Sadhana Samithi is leading this campaign and has asked a local leader, Nandamuri Balakrishna, to help.
They will keep asking the government to make Hindupur the headquarters until their demand is met.
Activists in Hindupur are campaigning to make it the headquarters of Satya Sai district.
They argue Hindupur has the necessary infrastructure for this role.
Puttaparthi is currently the headquarters, but some devotees complain about political protests disrupting the spiritual atmosphere.
The Hindupur Jilla Sadhana Samithi is leading the campaign and has asked MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna for support.
The activists will continue their agitation until the government agrees to their demand.
