Colombo Draw Narrows India’s World Test Championship Path

India drew their Test match against Sri Lanka in Colombo because rain stopped the game from having a winner.

Sri Lanka saved the match with Sonal Dinusha’s unbeaten 133.

The draw gave India fewer points than a win would have and pushed them to fifth place in the standings.

India now have seven Tests left to play.

Two are in New Zealand and five are at home against Australia.

Winning six of those matches would give India a strong chance of reaching the final.

Winning all seven would give them a PCT of 70.37 percent, although it still would not mathematically guarantee qualification.

Winning five or fewer would mean India needed other teams to lose points.
