G7 Plans 100 Million-Barrel Fuel Release Amid Energy Crisis

The G7 is a group of major countries that is trying to respond to a serious energy problem.

Oil prices have risen above $100 per barrel after shipping disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz.

This has made fuel and some important materials harder to obtain.

The countries reportedly agreed to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from their emergency reserves.

The release is expected to happen over the next four months.

Emmanuel Macron spoke with Donald Trump and Mark Carney about working together.

France is also consulting the International Energy Agency and plans to organize a meeting of G7 leaders.

European countries are particularly worried because much of their imported fuel travels through the affected area.
