Elderly Couple Found Dead Inside Box At Their Udaipur Home
In a small village in India, an elderly couple went missing.
A neighbor noticed that the man, who usually delivered milk, did not come around one morning.
A bad smell coming from the couple's home made the neighbors go check on them.
They searched the house and found a big box covered with a bed.
Inside the box, the couple's bodies were found wrapped in plastic bags.
The couple's son, who lives in another city, came home and told the police that his parents were missing.
Police think the couple may have been hurt on purpose and are looking for clues.
A dog squad was brought in to help find evidence.
Doctors will examine the bodies to find out exactly what happened.
The bodies of Lahri Lal Paliwal (65) and his wife Radha Devi (62), missing for two days, were found stuffed inside a box at their home in Punawali village of Sayra, Udaipur district, on Friday morning.
A foul smell alerted neighbors, who found the bodies wrapped in plastic bags inside a box covered with a bed.
Police suspect the couple was murdered late Tuesday night, though the exact cause of death will be established after postmortem examination.
Lahri Lal, who worked as a milkman, failed to deliver milk on Wednesday morning, prompting a neighbor to check the house and find the door open with the couple missing.
The couple's son Manohar, who works in Rajkot, Gujarat, filed a missing person complaint after police were alerted, and investigators have deployed a dog squad to assist the probe.
