Gujarat Reviews Wildlife Conservation and Eco-Tourism Plans
The Gujarat State Wildlife Board had a meeting in Gandhinagar to talk about how to protect animals and their homes.
They discussed making sure that more people visiting these areas don't hurt the wildlife.
They also talked about a new program to protect sloth bears and a tiger that might be living in one of the sanctuaries.
The board wants to involve local people in protecting tigers and is planning to make special places for leopards.
They also looked at ideas for building roads, water supplies, and other things in the sanctuaries and parks.
The 26th meeting of the State Wildlife Board was held in Gandhinagar, chaired by Bhupendra Patel.
The Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary was included in the National Sloth Bear Conservation Programme.
A tiger's presence was recorded in the Ratanmahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary, with potential for permanent settlement.
Community participation training programs for tiger conservation were discussed in collaboration with the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
