India to Launch e-Aadhaar App for Instant Demographic Updates
Imagine your Aadhaar card is like your digital ID.
Right now, if you need to change your address or phone number, you have to go to a special office.
But soon, India is getting a new app called e-Aadhaar!
This app will let you change most of your personal details, like your home address and phone number, right from your phone.
It will even check your new information automatically, making things faster and safer.
To make sure it's really you, the app will use smart technology like recognizing your face.
However, if you need to change things like your fingerprints, you'll still need to visit an office.
This new app will save you time and make managing your Aadhaar information much easier, and it should be ready by the end of 2025.
It will work alongside other helpful government apps.
The UIDAI is preparing to launch a new mobile application named e-Aadhaar.
The app will allow citizens to digitally update demographic information such as address, phone number, and date of birth from their smartphones.
Security will be enhanced through AI and facial recognition technology for user authentication.
Biometric updates like fingerprints and iris scans will still require in-person visits to Aadhaar centers.
The e-Aadhaar app is expected to launch by the end of 2025 for both Android and iOS platforms.
