Indore Water Contamination Crisis Worsens
In Indore, a city in India, many people got sick and some died because the drinking water was dirty.
The government says a pipe leaked and got mixed with dirty water from a toilet.
But a famous water expert named Rajendra Singh says this is because of a bad system with corruption.
The city gets its water from a river far away, and it costs a lot of money to bring it here.
The government is trying to fix the problem by giving clean water and treating sick people, but the expert says they need to do better planning to stop this from happening again.
Recently, more people got sick, and the number of deaths has gone up.
Doctors and nurses are helping people in the affected area.
The death toll from contaminated drinking water in Indore has risen to seven, with 38 new cases of vomiting and diarrhoea detected.
Officials are maintaining that six people have died, while locals claim the number is 17.
The health department conducted a real-time household survey to assess the situation and ensure the availability of chlorinated drinking water.
Around 200 teams were deployed to distribute medical supplies and provide counselling to residents.
The main objective is to ensure access to chlorinated, germ-free drinking water in the affected area, with ambulances and doctors deployed round the clock.
