Committee Interviews Academics for West Bengal University VCs
A special committee is choosing new leaders (VPs) for 15 universities in West Bengal.
This committee was created by the highest court in the country because there was a disagreement on who should be chosen for these jobs.
So far, they've talked to 13 people who want these jobs, interviewing them at a hotel in Kolkata.
These universities have been run by temporary VPs for over two years because the government and the Raj Bhavan couldn't agree on the permanent leaders.
A Supreme Court-formed committee interviewed 13 academics for VC positions.
The interviews occurred at a Kolkata hotel and concluded on Thursday.
Interviews are for 15 state-run universities in West Bengal.
