Mizoram Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Child Sexual Assault
A man named RT Lalhlimpuia from Thenzawl was found guilty of hurting a child in 2023.
A judge in Mizoram said he must go to jail for 20 years and pay a fine of 2 lakh rupees.
If he doesn't pay, he will stay in jail for an extra year.
The court also said he has another case against him that is still being decided.
This shows that the law protects children from being hurt by adults.
RT Lalhlimpuia, a Thenzawl resident, was convicted under the POCSO Act for assaulting a minor in 2023.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Julie Lalrinzami found him guilty on July 17.
