They got married on January 17, 2001, and have two children, Aarav and Nitara.

They met at a friend's party and fell in love while working on a film together.

Twinkle is also a successful author and film producer, known for her work on titles like Pyjamas Are Forgiving and PadMan.

Akshay will be next seen in the horror comedy Bhoot Bangla and will host the Indian edition of Wheel of Fortune.
