MLA urges Centre to begin delayed NH-56 construction
In a part of India called Madhya Pradesh, there is a town named Aalirajpur.
The government promised to build a big new road, called National Highway 56, so people could travel safely.
The opening ceremony happened over two years ago, but workers have still not started building the road.
A local leader named Sena Mahesh Patel wrote letters to important government leaders asking them to start construction soon.
The old road is just one lane and is full of holes and bumps.
When it rains, the road gets even worse and driving on it can be dangerous.
Sick people and pregnant women who need to reach hospitals in a nearby town called Dahod have a very hard time getting there.
The new highway would make trips to the hospital faster, safer, and easier.
The leader is asking the government to hurry so people in rural areas can get the help they need quickly.
Jobat MLA Sena Mahesh Patel has written to Union minister Nitin Gadkari and the road ministry secretary seeking early construction of the 28-km Ambua-Sejwada stretch of NH-56 in Aalirajpur.
More than two years have passed since the January 21, 2024, groundbreaking ceremony held via video conferencing, but construction has not started.
The existing single-lane road is damaged and potholed, with conditions worsening during the rainy season and increasing the risk of accidents.
Sena Mahesh Patel said residents, including seriously ill patients and pregnant women, travel to Dahod in Gujarat for medical treatment but face difficulties on the damaged stretch.
Separately, the Kshatriya Rathore community will celebrate the 388th birth anniversary of Durgadas Rathore with a procession and felicitation ceremony.
