West Bengal Reports Fewer Dengue Cases, But Monsoon Risks Remain

West Bengal has reported more than 4,000 dengue cases this year.

This is lower than the more than 7,600 cases reported in 2025.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said the situation is currently under control.

He said people’s awareness helped reduce the spread.

Government departments have also increased their efforts against dengue.

Five districts were identified as especially vulnerable.

Officials said seven deaths were officially caused by dengue, while the number rises to 10 when other serious health problems are considered.

Continued rain could still create places where mosquitoes breed.
