Sydney School's Meteorite Sparks Science Week Excitement
Imagine going to school and seeing what looks like a rock from outer space!
That's what happened at a school in Sydney.
Kids were super excited when they thought a meteorite had landed on their school grounds.
Even experts in hazmat suits came to check it out!
But it was all a fun trick.
The school used a fake meteorite to make learning science more exciting, part of a special week called National Science Week.
The students got to learn about space rocks, write stories, and do math problems related to the fake meteorite.
It was a great way to get them interested in science and show that learning can be an adventure.
A meteorite replica was placed at St Pius X College in Sydney.
Students were initially led to believe it was an actual meteorite.
Hazmat teams and experts were on-site to examine the 'space debris'.
The event was part of the school's National Science Week activities.
Students engaged in related writing and math lessons.
