India, Japan Shift Economic Partnership Toward High-Tech Growth

India and Japan have worked together for many years on factories, technology and projects such as the Delhi Metro.

Piyush Goyal said their friendship is now growing into new areas.

These areas include computer chips, artificial intelligence, clean energy, space and robots.

The countries also want supply chains to keep working during future global problems.

More than 200 business representatives from India and other countries joined Goyal’s visit.

Goyal said a Japanese robotics company quickly found an Indian company to invest in.

The wider plan follows a goal of attracting JPY 10 trillion in Japanese private investment to India over ten years.

In 2026, the countries will celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations with the “India-Japan Year of Shared Horizons.”
