Assam's Nalbari district inaugurates EV charging station and launches e-bus service
Imagine a town in India called Nalbari got a special place to plug in electric cars, like a charging station for your toys!
This is the seventh town in its state, Assam, to get one.
They also started using two new electric buses that run super quietly and don't make pollution, going between Nalbari and a bigger city called Guwahati.
Before, it was hard to use electric buses because there weren't enough charging spots.
Now, with this new station, they can use more electric buses and make it easier for people to travel without polluting the air.
This is all part of a bigger plan to have 100 new electric buses in the state to help the environment.
Nalbari has become the seventh district in Assam to receive an electric vehicle (EV) charging station.
Two fully air-conditioned electric buses were launched to operate between Nalbari and Guwahati, with services starting on November 6.
The new charging station aims to overcome previous hurdles in expanding the government's electric bus fleet due to limited charging infrastructure.
The e-bus service is part of the Prime Minister’s E-Bus Sewa initiative, with a plan to introduce 100 electric buses in Assam.
A total of 356 green buses are currently in operation across Assam, contributing to cleaner public transport.
