Congress Alleges EVM Tampering in Maharashtra Elections
The leader of the Congress party in Maharashtra, Harshvardhan Sapkal, has accused the ruling party and the Election Commission of breaking the seals of 17 EVMs and conducting re-voting in the Salekasa Nagar Panchayat after the elections had ended.
He claims that this is part of a larger pattern of electoral malpractices, including bogus voting and intimidation.
Sapkal also criticized the Maharashtra government for not helping farmers who suffered losses due to heavy rains.
He mentioned that a package of Rs 33,000 crore was announced, but it's unclear who received it.
The Congress party is planning a nationwide rally to protest against vote-theft.
The union Agriculture Minister has also accused the Maharashtra government of not sending a compensation proposal to the Centre, which the Congress leader says proves the government's lack of intention to help farmers.
