Regional Rural Bank Loans Rise 10.3% in FY26

Regional Rural Banks are banks that help people and businesses in rural areas get loans.

Their total loans grew to Rs 5.78 lakh crore in FY 2025–26.

This was 10.3% more than in the previous financial year.

The banks lent a large share of their money to farming and related activities.

Agriculture accounted for 77% of their priority-sector lending.

They also provided Rs 66,978 crore to small and medium businesses.

More than 95% of this business lending went to very small businesses.

The government said this showed that the banks were supporting rural development and financial inclusion.
