Coal India dispatches 375 million tons by rail in FY26
Coal India, a big company that supplies most of India's coal, has sent 375 million tonnes of coal by train so far this year.
They make sure the coal is good quality by having outside companies check it.
This helps them send coal more reliably and reduces arguments with power plants.
They want to send even more coal this way in the future and are using new technology to make sure the coal is checked fairly and quickly.
Even though coal can be different in different places, they are working hard to make sure it's good quality.
Coal India dispatched 375 million tonnes of coal by rail in FY26, all sampled by third-party agencies.
The company aims to increase the share of coal dispatched through silos to 80% in the current fiscal.
Third-party sampling is mandated to ensure unbiased quality checks and reduce disputes with power plants.
11 Third-Party Sampling Agencies (TPSAs) are empanelled by Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFCL) for sampling and analysis.
CIL is introducing online analysis for real-time quality assessment results at two of its subsidiaries.
