UP Begins Month-Long Power Maintenance Drive Before Major Festivals
Uttar Pradesh is preparing its electricity system for the upcoming festivals.
The power department will run a special maintenance campaign for one month.
It will take place from September 15 to October 14, 2026.
Workers will inspect substations, transformers, wires, and other equipment.
They will repair broken parts and fix problems that cause repeated outages.
Tree branches near power lines will also be cut back to help prevent disruptions during storms.
Officials will try to avoid power cuts during festival days.
Senior officers will conduct surprise inspections to check whether the work was really completed.
Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation will observe Maintenance Month from September 15 to October 14, 2026.
The drive aims to improve electricity reliability before Navratri, Dussehra, and Deepawali.
Substations, power transformers, distribution transformers, feeders, lines, and other equipment will be inspected and repaired.
Officials will replace damaged equipment, fix loose connections, remove makeshift wiring, and prune tree branches near power lines.
Area plans are due by September 10, while surprise inspections and work verification will take place later in October.
