Mayawati Warns Against Election Freebies Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Polls
Mayawati is the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, or BSP.
She warned that political parties may offer freebies and promises to win votes before elections.
She said people should decide freely and judge whether promises are actually kept.
She also said young people from Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha are protesting policies they consider harmful and may face police cases.
Mayawati said inflation, poverty and unemployment are causing hardship and migration in Uttar Pradesh.
She reviewed her party’s preparations for the next state election.
She expects the BSP to try to form the government again.
She also asked authorities to help people affected by floods in Nepal and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Mayawati accused political parties of using freebies and attractive promises to influence voters before elections.
She said voters should recognize alleged deception and choose independently after assessing parties’ records.
The BSP chief linked inflation, poverty, unemployment and migration in Uttar Pradesh to continuing public hardship.
She reviewed preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, including candidate selection and booth-level committee restructuring.
Mayawati urged relief for Nepal flood victims and a permanent solution to recurring floods in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
