JSW Infra to Modernize Kolkata Port, Expand Logistics
JSW Infrastructure, a big port operator, is making some big changes.
They signed a deal to fix up and modernize parts of a port in Kolkata for the next 30 years.
This means they'll rebuild and make the docks work better to move cargo.
They also bought land in Karnataka to build a place where trains can load and unload goods.
This new place will help them move things around more efficiently, starting in about six months.
JSW Infrastructure already runs many ports and a storage place in other countries, making them a key player in moving goods.
JSW Infra signed a 30-year agreement with Kolkata port for berth modernization.
The project involves reconstructing and mechanizing berths 7 and 8.
The agreement was made through JSW Kolkata Container Terminal Pvt Ltd.
JSW Port Logistics acquired a rail siding in Karnataka for a logistics park.
