Turtlemint Shares Surge 13.5% After First Profitable Quarter
Turtlemint, a company that helps people buy insurance, made a small profit for the first time in its last quarter (Q4 FY26).
This is a big deal because they were losing money in the same quarter last year and the quarter before that.
Their shares went up by more than 13.5% when this news came out.
The profit was partly because of a tax benefit, but the company is still doing better overall.
They added a lot of new partners and sold many insurance policies.
The company hopes to make a profit for the whole year in FY27.
Turtlemint reported its first-ever quarterly profit of ₹3.1 Cr in Q4 FY26, compared to a loss of ₹39.4 Cr in the same quarter last year.
Shares surged over 13.5% to a record high of ₹154.20 before paring some gains to trade 6.3% higher at ₹144.50.
Operating revenue rose 42% YoY and 29% QoQ to ₹357.2 Cr, while total expenses increased 23% YoY to ₹365.6 Cr.
The profit was partly due to a deferred tax credit of ₹8.3 Cr; without it, the company would have reported a loss before tax of ₹5.2 Cr.
Turtlemint added over 1.15 Lakh digital partners in FY26, expanding its network to over 6.59 Lakh and issuing 7.83 Mn policies.
