Kim Kardashian's SKIMS to Enter India via Reliance Brands Partnership
Kim Kardashian is a very famous celebrity who started the clothing brand SKIMS in 2019 with her business partner Jens Grede.
SKIMS makes shapewear, underwear and comfy loungewear designed for many different body types, plus menswear and a special line made with Nike.
Now SKIMS is coming to India with the help of a big Indian retail company called Reliance Brands.
The first SKIMS stores will open in Delhi and Mumbai, and Indian shoppers will also be able to buy the brand online.
SKIMS has already opened stores in London and Dubai, with Hong Kong and Seoul planned next.
Kim Kardashian said she can't wait to welcome Indian customers to her stores for the very first time.
Isha Ambani, a director at Reliance Retail Ventures, said the brand speaks to a new generation of Indian shoppers who want fashion that is both aspirational and made for them.
India is seen as a fast-growing market for premium international brands.
Reliance Brands Limited (RBL), the luxury retail arm of Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries, announced an exclusive partnership with SKIMS on Wednesday to launch the brand in India.
SKIMS will open its first Indian stores in Delhi and Mumbai, sold through physical stores and digital platforms in a phased rollout.
Co-founded in 2019 by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede, SKIMS offers shapewear, underwear, loungewear, menswear and its NikeSKIMS line.
The India entry follows recent SKIMS store openings in London and Dubai, with Hong Kong and Seoul next on the brand's global roadmap.
Reliance Retail already partners with brands including Fenty Beauty, Stella McCartney and Valentino, while rival Nykaa has signed Rare Beauty and NARS Cosmetics.
