GTA Seeks Investors for Darjeeling Tour Project
The GTA wants to fix up a tourist spot called Jamuni in Darjeeling.
They want private companies to help because the place is not in good shape.
The GTA and an older group spent a lot of money to build it, but it hasn't been used much.
There are rooms, cottages, a park, and even a boating area, but they need help to make it nice again.
The GTA chief, Anit Thapa, said this will help them make money and keep the place nice without spending too much government money.
GTA is seeking private investors to develop the neglected Jamuni tourist complex in Darjeeling.
The project was previously funded with ₹50 crore by GTA and the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC).
Facilities include a lodge, cottages, boating, a children's park, and a Shiva statue.
The area has been largely neglected since 2017 after the previous chief, Bimal Gurung, lost power.
GTA aims to generate revenue and ensure proper upkeep through private partnerships.
