Maharashtra Plans Statewide Growth Beyond Mumbai, Shinde Says

Maharashtra Plans Statewide Growth Beyond Mumbai, Shinde Says

Eknath Shinde said Maharashtra wants the whole state to grow, not just Mumbai.

The government wants more cities to attract businesses, factories and jobs.

It is building roads, metro lines, airports, ports and other transport projects.

These projects are meant to help people travel and help companies move goods.

The state also says development must protect the environment.

It plans to improve flood control, coastal protection, rainwater management and green spaces.

The government wants to build 35 lakh homes for economically weaker and low-income families by 2030.

Shinde said the larger goal is to create a modern, sustainable Maharashtra where young people can find jobs without leaving the state.
