India's Budget 2026-27: Rail, Roads, and Foreign Aid
India's government has big plans for faster trains and better roads.
They are building seven new high-speed train routes that will connect big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Delhi.
These new trains will make traveling much faster and bring in a lot of money.
The government is also spending more money on roads, especially on important highways.
Additionally, they have increased the budget for helping minority communities, but some people think it's not enough.
The government is also changing how much money they give to other countries, like giving less to Bangladesh and nothing to a port project in Iran.
India plans to develop seven high-speed rail corridors spanning 4,000 km, connecting major cities and expected to attract Rs 16 lakh crore in investments.
The road sector outlay has been increased to ₹3.10 lakh crore for 2026–27, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) allocation raised to ₹1,87,293.16 crore.
The budget for the Ministry of Minority Affairs has been set at Rs 3,400 crore, with Rs 831.7 crore allocated for the educational empowerment of minority students.
India has not allocated any funds for the Chabahar port project in Iran and has halved the development assistance for Bangladesh to Rs 60 crore.
The Ministry of External Affairs has a total allocation of Rs 22,118 crore, with the largest share going to Bhutan as development aid.
