Karnataka SIT files chargesheet in Aland 'vote chori' case
A special team of police in Karnataka has filed a big report about a case where some people tried to illegally remove the names of 5,994 voters from a list in a place called Aland.
They named seven people in the report, including a former politician and his son.
These people are accused of using a trick to get special codes to access the election commission's website and delete the names.
The police found out that the people who did this were paid money for each name they deleted.
The case was discovered when some workers checked the deletion requests and found that most of the people whose names were being deleted still lived in Aland.
The police also found that many phone numbers from different states were used to get the special codes, but the people who owned these phones didn't know their numbers were being used.
The former politician's son says they are being framed, while the Congress party is organizing protests to raise awareness about the issue.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police has filed a chargesheet naming seven persons, including a former BJP MLA, in the Aland 'vote chori' case.
The case involves the illegal deletion of 5,994 voter names in the Aland Assembly constituency.
