VVS Laxman Considered for Bigger Role After Rohit-Virat Criticise Gambhir
There is an important group of people who play cricket for India.
Two of the best players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are not happy with how things are going.
The person in charge of the team is Gautam Gambhir, and the players say the team has too many problems.
They told the cricket bosses that the team should not depend on just one person.
The bosses are called the BCCI, and they decide how Indian cricket works.
Kohli and Rohit even said they are ready to stop playing if the system asks them to.
The BCCI does not want to fire Gambhir right away.
Instead, they want to give former player VVS Laxman a bigger job.
Laxman could help train the team, pick players, or make the final cricket decisions.
Everyone trusts Laxman, so he might help everyone work together nicely.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have reportedly told the BCCI they do not want Indian cricket's future to rest solely with head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Both players are reportedly prepared to quit international cricket if the system demands it.
The BCCI is not expected to sack Gambhir or chief selector Ajit Agarkar immediately, but wants a stronger support structure around them.
VVS Laxman is being considered for a bigger role — head coach alongside Gambhir, chief selector, or overall director with the final say.
A similar role was reportedly offered to MS Dhoni, who turned it down; Laxman is seen as a trusted bridge among players, selectors and the board.
