Chamarajanagar Shooting Inquiry Report Sent to Karnataka Chief Secretary

Chamarajanagar Shooting Inquiry Report Sent to Karnataka Chief Secretary

Three men were killed during a shooting in a forest area of Chamarajanagar on August 15.

Forest officials said they fired because the men allegedly tried to shoot at them.

The family of one victim said the men had gone into the forest to find a missing cow.

Because the accounts were different, the government ordered an official inquiry.

The inquiry report has now been sent to the Chief Secretary, but its contents have not been released.

The Criminal Investigation Department is also investigating the related cases.

The State Human Rights Commission separately examined the incident.

The families received compensation and local protests ended after assurances of help and investigation.
