Chouhan Condemns Demolition of Tribal Homes in His Constituency

Tribal families in Kosmi village had their homes demolished, crops damaged and a well filled with soil, according to Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Officials reportedly said the action involved alleged encroachment.

Chouhan said he had previously told officials not to demolish the homes.

He objected to the action and said the families would receive temporary shelter and food.

He also promised that new homes would be built.

Congress leader Umang Singhar said the families were caught up in a dispute within the ruling BJP.

That claim was an allegation by Singhar.

Chouhan said officials responsible for leaving poor families homeless would not be spared.
