Palghar Proposes Bridge to Connect Two Vaitarna River Villages

Palghar Proposes Bridge to Connect Two Vaitarna River Villages

Two villages near the Vaitarna River are surrounded by water.

The villages are called Wadhiv and Vaiti.

People there currently use private boats to reach schools, hospitals and jobs.

Students especially need to travel outside the villages after grade 7.

A nearby railway bridge cannot be used by ordinary pedestrians.

The Palghar administration wants to build a safe bridge to the mainland.

The proposed bridge would be about 700 metres long and cost Rs 25.95 crore.

The Maharashtra government will consider the proposal.
