Gujarat Announces 2026 Policy For Stronger Child Protection

Gujarat has announced a new policy to help keep children safe.

It says every child should be treated with dignity and fairness.

Organizations that work directly with children will have to train their workers about child rights and child-protection laws.

They will also have rules against bullying, harassment, discrimination and inappropriate behaviour.

The policy says children should have access to education, healthcare and overall development.

It gives special attention to children who face extra difficulties, including orphaned, migrant, disabled and street-connected children.

It also includes transgender and intersex children and children affected by illness, disasters or conflict.

The government wants schools, hospitals, workplaces, online spaces and public places to become safer for children.
