Q1 earnings put Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, LG in focus

Q1 earnings put Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, LG in focus

A stock market is a place where people can buy and sell tiny pieces of companies, called shares.

In India, the stock market had a confusing week — prices went up and down but didn't move much.

The Sensex, one way of measuring the market, went up a tiny bit.

Another measure, called the Nifty, went down a tiny bit.

Investors were careful because they were unsure about a possible agreement between the United States and Iran.

They also watched oil prices and a very busy shipping road called the Strait of Hormuz.

Many companies told everyone how much money they made in the last three months.

Some, like Honasa Consumer and KRBL, made a lot more money than before.

Others, like LG Electronics India, also did well.

More companies, like Ashok Leyland and Tata Motors, are sharing their money reports very soon.
