Five Rajasthan University VCs Ousted Amid ABVP Pressure
In 2024, five Vice-Chancellors (VCs) in Rajasthan were removed or suspended from their jobs.
The Governor of Rajasthan took action against them because there were complaints about them not following the rules, misusing money, and other problems.
A student group called ABVP was involved in protesting against these VCs and making complaints.
Some VCs said they were being treated unfairly, while others said the ABVP was trying to get them removed for their own benefits.
One VC, Dr. Balraj Singh, even went to court and won, but only after he was already supposed to retire.
The Governor's office didn't say much about why they removed the VCs, but the ABVP said they had nothing to do with the Governor's decisions.
Five Vice-Chancellors (VCs) in Rajasthan were removed or suspended in 2024 due to allegations of irregularities.
The ABVP student group played a significant role in protesting and lodging complaints against the VCs.
Allegations included misuse of power, financial irregularities, and non-compliance with university acts.
One VC, Dr. Balraj Singh, had his suspension set aside by the High Court, which found the suspension to be hasty and unjustified.
The Governor's office declined to comment on the actions taken against the VCs.
