Navi Mumbai DPS Lake Wildlife Habitat To Get Conservation Push

In Navi Mumbai, a city in India, there is a lake called DPS Lake.

Every year, beautiful pink birds called flamingos come to visit this lake.

Other animals like golden jackals and mongooses also live near it.

The forest minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Ganesh Naik, held a meeting about protecting these animals.

He told the officials to take real steps to keep the lake and its surroundings safe.

The officials also talked about making the area an official 'Flamingo Conservation Zone.'

That would give extra care to the flamingos.

Mr. Naik said that even while the city grows and builds new things, it should not hurt the flamingos' home.

He said the Chief Minister supports protecting the flamingos.

So the city wants to protect the animals and the environment while it keeps developing.
