PAC Warns of Contempt if Ludhiana Dyeing Clusters Reopen
Imagine some factories in Ludhiana that color fabrics.
These factories were shut down because the water they were using was causing problems.
Now, some people are worried that these factories might open again, which could break the rules set by a special court about protecting the environment.
The water from the factories is very toxic and is polluting homes in Ludhiana.
This same toxic water is also used for drinking in places further away, like South Punjab and Rajasthan, which is a big problem.
The Public Action Committee is alerting officials, saying it would be against the rules if the factories open up without following the court's instructions.
This is all to make sure the water stays clean and safe.
PAC warns of contempt if dyeing clusters reopen without EC compliance.
Deputy Commissioner ordered closure of dyeing clusters on September 1.
Closure was due to Sutlej water backflow and STP failure.
Toxic water used downstream for drinking.
Concerns focus on environmental compliance and pollution.
