Rs 110-crore Tumakuru Cancer Hospital Still Idle Months After Inauguration

A new cancer hospital was built in Tumakuru to help people get treatment closer to home.

It cost about Rs 110 crore and opened officially on November 7, 2025.

But almost 10 months later, it is still not fully working.

Officials say important machines needed for advanced treatment have not arrived and been installed.

Some of the equipment is expected from Germany.

This means many patients still need to travel to Bengaluru or other cities.

People are also worried that the unused building is not being maintained properly.

Residents want the government to finish the work and open the hospital soon.
