West Bengal Allows Fresh FIRs for 1993 Police Firing Victims
A long time ago, in 1993, some people were killed by the police in West Bengal, India.
The families of these people have been waiting for justice for 27 years.
Now, the current Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari, has said that these families can file new police reports (FIRs) and the government will help them.
The families are very upset and want the former Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, to be punished because they feel she did not help them get justice.
They are also sad because they trusted her for many years but now feel betrayed.
The government has promised to follow the recommendations of a special commission that looked into the incident.
West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari announced that families of 1993 police firing victims can file fresh FIRs.
The state government will provide full legal assistance for the process.
Families demand legal action against former CM Mamata Banerjee, alleging a cover-up.
