Kashmiri Pandit Employees Told to Stay Home After Threat Letter

Kashmiri Pandit Employees Told to Stay Home After Threat Letter

In a place called Kashmir, some people who work for the government were told to stay home and work from their houses until August 20.

This happened because a scary letter appeared on the internet.

The letter said a group called the United Liberation Council warned them to 'change their ways.'

It also showed their names and phone numbers, which made them feel unsafe.

Many of these workers belong to a small community called Kashmiri Pandits.

A group called Panun Kashmir, which supports Kashmiri Pandits, is very worried and asked the government to investigate.

They want the police to check on the safety of everyone named in the letter and their families.

The police are checking if the letter is real, and some government officials say they are not sure.

A school official said his department did not ask anyone to stay home, but some workers say they were told to.

The letter came about a week after two workers were sadly killed in a place called Kulgam, so many people are worried about safety.
