Karnataka to Dispatch Rabies Vaccines Amid Shortage Concerns
Hospitals in Karnataka were running low on important vaccines for animal bites, like rabies and snake antivenom.
The government is sending out a big batch of vaccines to fix this.
They also made new rules to make sure hospitals don't run out again.
Now, hospitals have to keep track of exactly how much vaccine they are using every day and report it.
This helps the government to know where the vaccines are needed the most, so that everyone can get the medicine they need quickly.
Karnataka is addressing a shortage of anti-rabies vaccines (ARV) and anti-snake venom (ASV).
The Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation (KSMSCL) will dispatch nearly 90,000 ARV vials.
The state reported 190,000 dog bites and 4,786 snakebites this year.
New guidelines require real-time inventory updates on the Aushada platform.
Hospitals must update patient-wise drug usage daily to manage supplies efficiently.
