EOW Books Three in ₹13.34 Lakh Moong Procurement Fraud

EOW Books Three in ₹13.34 Lakh Moong Procurement Fraud

The Economic Offences Wing, or EOW, has registered a case against three cooperative-society employees.

The case concerns a government scheme for buying moong at a minimum support price.

Officials allege that the employees bought lower-quality moong from the open market.

They allegedly paid between ₹1,500 and ₹3,300 for each quintal.

They then allegedly sold it to the government for as much as ₹8,628 per quintal.

The employees are accused of using accounts belonging to landowners who were not registered on the government portal.

Officials say this caused an alleged loss of ₹13.34 lakh to the government.

The reported activity took place between 2024 and 2026.
