CIK Thwarts Online Terror Plot, Rescues Two Kashmiri Youths
Imagine some kids online were being tricked into thinking bad things were okay.
They were being shown videos and messages by someone from another country, who wanted them to join a dangerous group.
But, the police saw what was happening and stopped it!
The police found out who the kids were and talked to their families to explain the danger.
The police also talked to important people in the community to help everyone understand how to stay safe online.
CIK dismantled a network that was attempting to radicalize youth online.
Two juveniles, Hashim Mashood Lone and Mohammad Hazik Ahanger, were identified as operators.
The operation was directed by a Pakistan-based propagandist, Ahmad Salar, associated with TRF.
Salar used encrypted tools to groom the youths using propaganda and false promises.
