August 28 Partial Lunar Eclipse Not Visible in India
A lunar eclipse happens when Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon.
Earth’s shadow then falls on the Moon.
On August 28, 2026, the Moon will have a deep partial eclipse.
About 96% of the Moon will be covered at the event’s maximum.
People in India will not be able to see it because it will be daytime there.
People in parts of Europe, Africa, the Americas, western Asia, and nearby oceans will be able to see it.
Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse is safe to watch without special glasses.
Binoculars or a telescope can make the Moon’s details easier to see, but they are not required.
The second lunar eclipse of 2026 will occur on Friday, August 28.
