Nagendra Granted Anticipatory Bail in CBI Case
B. Nagendra, a former minister and MLA from the Congress party, was given special permission to avoid arrest by the court.
This is because the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) wanted to question him about some money problems in a government company.
Earlier, he was arrested in July 2024 for money laundering and was released on bail in October 2024.
The court's decision came after Nagendra asked for protection from arrest while the CBI is investigating him.
B. Nagendra, a former Congress minister and MLA, was granted anticipatory bail by a Special Court in Bengaluru.
The bail is in connection with a CBI notice for questioning regarding financial irregularities in Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited.
ED investigations revealed Rs 90 crore allegedly diverted to 18 fake accounts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Nagendra was arrested on July 12, 2024, on charges of money laundering and was granted bail in October 2024.
The High Court reserved its order on Nagendra's plea for anticipatory bail and granted it on Wednesday.
