Maharashtra Releases Flood Relief Letter Amid Allegations
There was a big flood in Maharashtra, India, which caused a lot of damage to farms, homes, and roads.
The state government asked the central government for money to help fix things.
But someone said the state didn't send the right papers.
So, the state's minister showed a letter to prove they did send the papers.
The letter said the floods were very bad and the state needs help to rebuild.
The central government had already given some money, and the state also promised to help farmers.
Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule released a letter showing the state government submitted a flood loss assessment report to the Centre.
The letter, dated November 27, sought financial support under the National Disaster Response Fund due to widespread flooding.
The report detailed losses in Marathwada, Vidarbha, Konkan, and Western Maharashtra, including crops, livestock, homes, and infrastructure.
The state government had previously announced a Rs 31,628-crore relief package for affected farmers, with Rs 11,000 crore approved for immediate disbursal.
The Centre had released Rs 1,566.40 crore as interim assistance, and an Inter-Ministerial Central Team visited flood-hit districts for assessment.
