NIT Rourkela Counseling Services Saved Lives of Students
NIT Rourkela has a special counseling service called ICS that helps students with their mental health.
Last year, they helped save eight students' lives.
ICS offers counseling sessions and has a team of counselors, mentors, and advisors to support students facing issues like stress, relationships, and career worries.
They help students by providing advice and, if needed, help them take breaks to focus on getting better.
The institute also makes sure students are ready to return to their studies when they come back.
NIT Rourkela's Institute Counselling Services (ICS) saved eight student lives last year.
ICS provided over 2,000 online and offline counseling sessions to 987 students.
The ICS was established in 2017 and includes counselors, psychiatrists, faculty advisors, and peer mentors.
Students seek guidance for academic self-improvement, anger management, relationship issues, and career anxiety.
The institute facilitates temporary breaks and fitness assessments for students with emotional instability.
