SC agrees to hear plea challenging Jantar Mantar facial recognition

SC agrees to hear plea challenging Jantar Mantar facial recognition

People were having a protest at a place called Jantar Mantar.

The police used special cameras with a system called facial recognition.

This system can look at a person's face and try to match it with photos the police already have.

Some people did not like this, so they asked the court to think about it.

The Supreme Court agreed to listen to their complaint.

The police said they only want to catch criminals and troublemakers.

They said the system is for finding people who might try to make the protest unsafe.

The police can watch the camera system in real time.

Now the court will hear the plea and decide about the surveillance.
