India's Equestrian Future Bright, But Regulations Must Change
A person named Silva Storai helps run horse riding sports in India.
He says the future of horse riding in India is very bright.
But he thinks some old rules need to change.
Right now, it is hard to send horses from India to other countries.
He wants riders to be able to take their horses to India in winter and back to Europe.
He started a league in 2010 so young riders could compete more often.
Before, there was only one big competition each year.
He says riding schools are important to find talented kids.
He hopes Indian riders win a medal at the Asian Games.
He is very proud of the eventing team.
Silva Storai, director of Embassy International Riding School and founder of the Equestrian Premier League, says India's equestrian future is bright but transitional.
The Equestrian Federation of India was run largely by the Army for over 60-70 years and is moving toward a mix of Army and civilian participation.
Storai says outdated regulations make it difficult to export horses from India, though importing is allowed.
The Equestrian Premier League was started in 2010 to give civilian riders, especially youngsters, regular competition opportunities.
Storai expects India's riders to perform well at the Asian Games and hopes for a medal, praising the eventing team.
