Maharashtra SIR Challenged in Bombay High Court, Voters Seek Restoration

Two petitions have been filed in the Bombay High Court about Maharashtra’s voter-list review.

The review is called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

The petitioners say some voters were deleted and want them restored.

They also want the court to cancel some instructions connected to the review.

One petition asks for an independent committee to investigate data deletions and software problems.

Another asks election officials to explain how voters were classified and excluded.

The petitions followed reports that two Election Commissioners objected to some SIR decisions.

The articles do not include a response from the Election Commission of India.
